To Blog or not to Blog?

I was going to switch over to Blogspot, but decided that having a site would be more to my advantage. Of course, this is still in blog-format, which means I am blogging, but on my own site… *is confused* So, anyway! Here it is, in its primitive stages. Welcome to my wordpress website! *audience applauses* Only drawback is – no smileys. (Just like Gmail! What’s up with them??) So, I’ll have to add my own somehow.

So, a few updates:

1. Church
I have officially transitioned out of Vision Church, and I just want to say how thankful I am to Vision Church (as a whole and as individual members) for being so supportive of me over the last almost 7 yrs. I love you guys, and I promise I will be around. I’ll see you guys at Pastor Joseph’s ordination and the Holiday Dinner! =) Until I transition into a new church (more on that later), I’ll be worshiping over at Morning Star Church (MSNY).
2. Speaking Engagements
I was invited to speak to the youth at Community Church Great Neck, which is the OCM branch in Long Island. I ended up speaking to the entire congregation, however! :Insert shocked smiley here: But, it went well. Ended up using Joanna’s workshop on Social Justice. And I talked about Bread & Water and OneHouse. It went well. I stayed for lunch and talked with some of the youth that I’ve met at TECBC about some of the things I’d spoken about.

3. Teaching
Somebody saaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaave me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love teaching, but it’s definitely consuming. I have over 150 students in 2 subjects – Life Science and Chinese. It’s a bit schizophrenic. And it’s easy to get behind on grading and lesson planning. Funny, huh? When you’re a student, you think grading is so fun. You always want to help the teacher enter grades into their books and so forth. But, when you have to do it everyday… well, let’s just say I’ve gotten to running a sweatshop in my apt for those who want to help me. So, if you want to come and join us, just drop me an email! =P

4. My “Son”?
Sorry, this will be a long entry, and I dont have time now, but I promise to write about him next cuz I definitely need the prayers and things havent turned out as I thought they would. =/

5. OneHouse
It went awesomely, and the xanga + website will be updated soon.

Love you guys! ❤

OneHouse 2006!

Oct 12, 2006

I know I promised you all an update on my new “son,” but I have to do this first cuz it’s next Saturday, and I’m leading worship with my buddies Albert Cheung and Daniel Kim. Pray for us!!! We’re ALL SICK! And I’ve had a pretty bad throat infection which is totally inhibiting my ability to sing. -s Pray for complete healing, and my preparation as I start the nite in prayer and lead the mini concert of prayer we’ll be having that nite.

And most importantly, COME!!! And pass this on to all your friends!!! =)

ONEHOUSE 2006! ONEHOUSE Unity. Worship. Social Justice.

OneHouse is a movement that seeks to unify and mobilize the body of Jesus Christ through worship and intercessory prayer to bring social justice to global and local communities and to honor Christ’s love for the oppressed.

Last year, OneHouse brought together more than 300 Christians in New York City for a night of worship that only Jesus Christ could inspire. People, churches, and other Christian organizations –once strangers in a city of strangers — recognized their common ground in the Lord and took a step closer towards unity through praise and worship.

This year, unity finds its purpose.

There is one body and one Spirit—just as you were called to one hope when you were called— one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.

OneHouse Praise Nite!

It would be awesome if you could all make it!

Pray for me — the spiritual warfare and intercession i’ve had to do this week has been unbelievable! I’ve spent more time praying for ppl over IM than I have on my Finals! =/ Pray for this event. Pray for my Worship Team, esp. my partner, Albert, who’s been fighting sp. warfare w/me this wk. Pray for our speaker (and my future pastor) Joseph Tsang. Fight with us and on our behalf! On May 14th, at 7:00pm Vision Church is sponsoring OneHouse, a night of praise, prayer, and fellowship for churches all over New York City. Our intent is to ultimately glorify our Lord Jesus with all of our mind, heart, and souls. Our vision is to fill all of the pews the night of the event and have His body come together as one, shouting His praises! Our hope is that this is not just a Vision Church event inviting all those interested, but that it would be a partnership event among churches all over New York City, promoting fellowship together and building the bridges and relationships that are so essential within the body of Christ. All of you are invited to join with us.

Through various contacts and friendships, help get the word out and make this event a true fellowship of believers all over the city, honoring our God most high. The purpose of OneHouse is not just to have a regular praise night but to really set the stage for future events together in New York City, continuing the work of churches and organizations like Running Roots.

Therefore, with this in mind, we hope that you will be willing to serve with us by helping us get the word out and maybe even meeting together and having an open dialogue about the purpose of OneHouse and how we can move as one together in the future. This is the first step of our goals. OneHouse itself should only be a result of the relationships we hope to be forming together.

Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and aliens, but fellow citizens with God’s people and members of God’s household, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone. In Him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord. And in Him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit. – Ephesians 2:19-22
